Finance overview
Top-level reports for revenue, cash flow, profit, and account balances.
The Finance Overview is a dashboard that pulls together every invoice, quote, payment, and expense into one set of charts and stat cards. Use it for a quick read on how the business is doing this period.
Where it lives
Workspace, Finance, Overview.
Filters
The top of the page has:
- Timeframe buttons: This Month, 3 Months, 6 Months, 1 Year, All Time.
- Custom range picker: pick a From and To date to override the preset.
- Accounting basis toggle: Accrual vs Cash.
- Accrual recognises revenue on the invoice date, the moment you issue the invoice.
- Cash recognises revenue on the payment date, the moment money actually lands.
Stat cards
Stat cards split into a few groups:
Revenue
- Total Invoiced / Total Received (label flips with the accounting basis).
- Total Collected / Total Invoiced.
- Outstanding: invoiced minus collected.
- Overdue Amount: just past-due invoices.
Cash Flow
- Total Income.
- Total Expenses.
- Net Cash Flow: income minus expenses.
- Account Balance: the current state of all your payment accounts (this one ignores the timeframe filter).
Profit & Loss
- Revenue.
- Expenses.
- Net Profit.
- Profit Margin (%).
Charts
- Cash Flow Over Time, a stacked area chart of income, expenses, and net.
- Expense Breakdown, a donut chart by category with a legend below.
- Top Clients, a horizontal bar chart with two bars per client: invoiced and collected.
Account Balances
A separate card lists every payment account with its current balance, broken out per currency if you have multi-currency accounts.
Things to know
- The numbers update live as you create new invoices, record payments, or log expenses, no manual refresh needed.
- Account Balance always shows the current snapshot, the timeframe filter doesn't apply to it.
- If there's no financial activity in the selected period, the page shows a No financial data message instead of empty charts.
Permissions
The page is visible to anyone with workspace access. The data shown is filtered by what each viewer is allowed to see (e.g. invoices they have access to). Most teams give finance reads to Managers and above.
